On March 21, you can experience the Ribe Oyster Festival, and in this connection you have the opportunity to choose a whole experience where you start the day by picking oysters and drinking champagne in the middle of the Wadden Sea.
Once the harvest is bagged, head to Vester Vedsted Vineyard, where the picked oysters are grilled and you have the opportunity to enjoy “The Watcher's Godnat Oysters”, the Arrest Warden's Lunch”, “Maren Splids Smedelse's Secret” or “The Bishop's Love”.
Experience the vastness of the Wadden Sea and enjoy the delicacies of the sea — oysters — directly from their habitat in the middle of the Wadden Sea at Mandø, and then visit the oyster festival in the stylish surroundings of Ribe, where you will enjoy the maritime atmosphere in festive layers.
You must be dressed appropriately for today's weather. Minimum rubber boots, preferably paders.
You will be given gloves, a sack for collecting oysters, champagne glasses (for loan)
We also bring champagne (with and without alcohol), champagne sabers, and oyster knives.
We hike together from the dike on Mandø and out to the oyster banks.
After about 2 km we arrive at the oyster banks.
Here we collect our oysters, and eat a few with a glass of bubbly champagne.
You must take home as many oysters as you need.
We look forward to a day filled with delicate experiences in the unique nature of the Wadden Sea.
